Make sure you are ready to cast your ballot!

For all your Ohio Election resources, visit the Ohio Secretary of State Election website.

 

1. Register Online by October 7, 2024.

  • You can register online. (Tip: A video on this page walks you through the process.)
  • Register in person at your County Board of Elections - Each county has a Board of Elections (BOE), so you must visit the appropriate location. 
    • See the directory of BOE's here
    • You can also call your BOE and request that a registration form be mailed to you.

2. Be sure you have the correct photo identification.

Ohio's voter ID requirements changed in 2023, so there are several forms of ID that are no longer accepted.

NOTE: If you are 17 years or older and are an Ohio resident, you can receive a state ID card FOR FREE from the BMV. Learn more here.

3. Know these important dates.

October 7, 2024 - You MUST be registered by this date.

  • Check online to make sure you are still registered and have not been removed.

October 8, 2024 - Absentee Voting by Mail and Early In-Person Voting Begins


November 4, 2024 - Mailed absentee ballots must be POSTMARKED by this date.


November 5, 2024 - If you haven't already voted absentee or through early voting, go to the polls! 

  • Polls are open from 6:30am - 7:30pm.

4. Learn about the candidates to make an informed decision.

Remember that your voice matters,
so use it this November!
