Support for children and families facing emotional and behavioral challenges
Support when children, teens, and families need help getting back on track

Mental health challenges can affect how children feel, behave, learn and connect with others. When those challenges start to interfere with school, home life or relationships, outpatient counseling can help.
Beech Brook’s Outpatient Services provide assessment, therapy and case management support for children and teens up to age 18, with family involvement and parent support available.
There are many reasons why families seek outpatient services. Their children may be having behavior problems at school or at home. They may have experienced trauma or loss or family conflicts.
After a referral is made, Beech Brook therapists complete a diagnostic assessment to better understand the child’s needs and create a treatment plan. Services may include:
Individual therapy
One-on-one support to help children and teens process emotions, build coping skills and work through challenges.
Family therapy
Support for parents and caregivers as families strengthen communication, routines and relationships.
Case management
Help connecting families to additional resources and supports when needed.
Beech Brook’s Outpatient Services can help children and teens experiencing:
When a child is struggling, the whole family can feel the impact. Outpatient counseling gives children and caregivers a supportive place to understand what is happening, learn new tools and begin moving forward together.
With the right support, children can build confidence, manage emotions, strengthen relationships and feel more successful at home, in school and in daily life.

About 1 in 5 young people experience a mental health challenge each year—and getting support early can change the trajectory of their lives.
Many mental health concerns begin during childhood and adolescence—nearly half by age 14—which is why early recognition and care are so important.
Mental Health Support for College Now students
College is a major transition — and a major achievement. Even with scholarships, financial aid, advisors and mentors, some students may need extra mental health support as they adjust to post-secondary education.
Through Beech Brook’s partnership with College Now, students can access brief, solution-focused telehealth therapy to help manage anxiety, depression, stress and other challenges that may get in the way of school and daily life.
Services may include assessment, therapy and case management.
Beech Brook’s telehealth services are available to College Now students attending Ohio post-secondary institutions. Students enrolled in out-of-state programs or online courses may also be eligible, but must be physically located in Ohio at the time of services.
For referral access or more information, students should contact their College Now Mentor.
It takes many partners who share our vision of a future where every child and family thrives to keep our mission alive.
