Teaching Kids They Have a Voice and a Choice
Helping Children Grow Up Safe, Informed, and Confident
Children and teens are constantly receiving messages about relationships, bodies, and boundaries — from peers, media, and the world around them. Without clear, accurate guidance, those messages can be confusing, misleading, or even harmful.
Beech Brook’s Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) program provides age-appropriate, medically accurate, and developmentally appropriate education that helps young people understand their bodies, build healthy relationships, and stay safe.
Led by trained educators, our program creates a safe, respectful environment where students can ask questions, learn essential life skills, and gain the knowledge they need to make healthy decisions.

Our curriculum is tailored to age and developmental level, but key topics include:
Students are taught in a way that is engaging, inclusive, and grounded in real-life situations — helping them build both knowledge and confidence.
We know these topics can feel uncomfortable — but avoiding them doesn’t keep children safe.
Our educators create an environment where students feel respected, heard, and supported — so they can learn without fear, shame, or confusion.

At least 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 20 boys in the United States experience sexual abuse before they turn 18.
90% of children who are sexually abused know the person responsible. Teaching body safety and boundaries early can help prevent harm before it happens.
It takes many partners who share our vision of a future where every child and family thrives to keep our mission alive.
