Early Childhood Services

The extraordinary learning that takes place in early childhood shapes a child’s success in school, relationships, and life.

Beech Brook’s Early Childhood Services support children from birth through age 8 who may be experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. By identifying concerns early—when children are most adaptable—we can help build the skills they need to manage emotions, focus, problem-solve, and form healthy relationships.

Through consultation, assessment, therapeutic services, and partnerships with families, child care providers, and schools, we offer a range of supports designed to meet children where they are and help them grow.

Why Early Support Matters

Early childhood is a critical time for brain development. Experiences during these years shape how children learn, respond to stress, and connect with others.

When challenges are addressed early, children are more likely to:

  • Develop strong emotional regulation skills
  • Build healthy relationships with caregivers and peers
  • Succeed in school environments
  • Gain confidence and resilience

Early support doesn’t just help today—it changes the path forward.

Child Care Consultation & Training

Supporting educators and preventing preschool expulsion

If a child is struggling in a child care setting, early support can make all the difference. Beech Brook’s Child Care Consultants partner with centers, home-based providers, and after-school programs to help children succeed.

Through observation, planning, and hands-on support, we help:

  • Identify challenges in the classroom environment
  • Develop individualized strategies for each child
  • Support teachers and staff in meeting children’s needs
  • Strengthen communication between families and providers

Consultation is free for child care programs serving children through age 12.
