PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- Beech Brook, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting healthy child development and family well-being, has found its new home.
After recently selling its scenic 65-acre property at 3737 Lander Road in Pepper Pike to a Christian school, a Beech Brook news release issued Thursday (Jan. 4) stated that it will be moving its headquarters to Garfield Heights.
“The move underscores Beech Brook’s unwavering commitment to serving the community to help children and families thrive,” the news release stated.
“After an extensive search, Beech Brook is excited to reveal its new home, conveniently located at 13201 Granger Road in Garfield Heights.
“Situated adjacent to a University Hospitals Women’s Health Clinic and offering easy access via the highway and public transportation, this strategic location brings Beech Brook closer to more people who can utilize its vital services.”
Beech Brook currently helps more than 8,000 families annually through school partnerships, a foster care network and a family center in Cleveland.
The 171-year-old Beech Brook, founded in Cleveland before moving to Pepper Pike in 1926, sold its Lander Road property in November at a reported price of $9.2 million to the private Christian school Heritage Classical Academy.
According to a Beech Brook news release from November, the majority of the proceeds from the property sale will be placed in Beech Brook’s endowment to support its mission.
As part of the agreement, Beech Brook had four months to find its new location and vacate the Pepper Pike property.
In its 20th year, Heritage Classical Academy will establish a new K-12 campus in Pepper Pike. It will utilize the property’s existing buildings.
Last week, Pepper Pike Mayor Richard Bain said the school has no current plans to build new structures on the property. The academy will open at the Pepper Pike campus later this year.
The new Beech Brook headquarters will feature a large and flexible meeting space that will be used for parenting groups or community events, as well as amenities for staff including an onsite fitness center.
The renovation of the new Garfield Heights office space is expected to be completed in approximately 90 days, with the move slated to take place in March or April. Further details about the transition will be shared in the coming weeks.
“Beech Brook’s dedication to helping children and families thrive remains at the forefront of our mission, and this relocation represents a significant step toward furthering that goal,” said Beech Brook President and CEO Thomas P. Royer.
