Our annual fall event is going virtual this year!

The COVID-19 pandemic may be requiring us to keep our distance from each other right now, but you can still go the distance for Beech Brook! This year, we are asking you to run, walk, ride or roll with a twist. In this year of anxiety and uncertainty, we're encouraging you to practice moments of mindfulness as you log your miles...just being aware of your thoughts and emotions and focusing on the world around you. That's just one of the ways we help the children and families we serve at Beech Brook, and it works for everyone! We'll share some tips about how to do that.

Here's how this year's event will work.

When: September 21 through October 18, 2020

Location: You decide…how far you go, when you go, where you go and how you get there!

Cost: There’s no registration fee for our virtual event, but here’s what you can do to support Beech Brook.

  • Make a donation (minimum suggested donation $15)
  • Pledge how far you will go and how much you will contribute or raise for each mile you complete. The further you go, the more we raise!
  • Ask your family and friends to join you or sponsor your virtual experience.

What you’ll receive: The first 200 participants to register will receive

  • a custom Beech Brook 3-ply cotton, cooling face mask that is ideal for running
  • a #beechbrookmindulmiles sign to display in your selfies and social media posts
  • tips for practicing mindfulness during your experience
  • All registrants will receive weekly updates, along with mindfulness tips, scenic routes to try as you participate, and weekly challenges that can earn you a prize!

Packet Pick-Up: Pick your packet up outside Beech Brook’s headquarters at 3737 Lander Road, in Pepper Pike at any of the following times.

  • Friday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Friday, October 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Celebrate your accomplishments: Join us for a Facebook Live event on Sunday, October 18, at 1 p.m. We’ll announce our distance and donation leaders and give a big thanks to everyone who supported Beech Brook!
