Putting the needs of children first during a divorce.
For children, separation and divorce can be a traumatic and confusing time. But there are ways to help your kids cope successfully.
Going through a separation or divorce is a difficult and emotional experience for most couples, even when they believe it’s for the best. But for children of divorcing parents, it can be a traumatic and confusing time at any age.
Parents play a major role in how children adjust to a divorce. How they react can make a significant difference in reducing the psychological toll a divorce can take on their children and in helping them adjust to the changes it will bring.
A few supportive parenting strategies can go a long way toward helping kids cope with the upheaval and changes brought about by divorce.
Beech Brook’s Divorce Education Seminar focuses on how parents can meet the needs of their children during a divorce and learn to successfully co-parent when they are no longer living together.
Restructuring a family takes time and can be a painful process; however, when done with care, parents can provide new home environments in which children feel loved and safe.
All divorcing parents in Cuyahoga County who have children under 18 are required to take this seminar.
Cost: $45, payable by cash or money order only.
The seminar includes the manual:
“Children and Divorce: A Guide for Parents.”
PLEASE NOTE: All divorce seminars have been temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 epidemic. We will not be accepting registrations until at least mid-April. Please visit our website for updates at that time.
