Beech Brook provides School-Based Mental Health Services, including therapy and support, in public school districts and charter schools in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Summit, Lorain and Lucas counties.
Children who suffer from emotional and behavioral problems have trouble focusing on learning, often becoming an ordeal for their teachers, parents and peers. Beech Brook’s School-Based services provide mental health support to these children where and when they need it—every day in school.
Working hand-in-hand with children, teachers, administrators and families, Beech Brook therapists help children overcome their mental health problems, which leads to improved attendance, school performance, behavior and social interaction with others. Services include:
- Individual and family counseling
- Case management
- Home visits
- Teacher/administrator consultations
- Information and referrals to other Beech Brook programs or to other agencies
School-Based therapy services may be combined with Beech Brook’s REACH (Releasing Excellent Alternative Community Help) program, which provides mental health support to children and their families at home or in the community, as well as linkages to other programs and services.
