Girl Talking With a CounselorWhen young children, youth and teens are struggling with emotional or behavioral problems, the whole family suffers. Beech Brook currently offers Outpatient Mental Health Counseling and support services for children up to age 18 at two locations. Outpatient Counseling is also available for the parents of children served by Beech Brook programs.

Families seek help for many different reasons. Their children may be having emotional or behavioral problems at school or at home. There may be a history of trauma, loss or family conflicts. In addition, parents of children returning from residential care may also find the special support they need during the transition.

Our highly skilled therapists help children and their families work through a variety of mental health issues, including:

  • ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Depression
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Services may include:

  • Diagnostic assessment
  • Psychiatric consultation
  • Individual, family and group therapy
  • Crisis management and safety planning
  • Mental health case management and community support availabl
