Who We Serve

For more than 150 years, Beech Brook has been committed to the care and healing of Cleveland's most vulnerable children and families. From its early days as an orphanage to the present, Beech Brook has believed that all children deserve safe and caring homes and families. Beech Brook has been dedicated to preserving or finding a family for every child in its care.

Today that work continues through a broad range of mental health programs, including:

  • Intensive treatment for the most seriously disturbed children;
  • Residential and day treatment for elementary through middle school aged-children who have serious emotional and behavioral problems;
  • Foster care for children of all ages;
  • Adoption placement and support for school-age children and sibling groups;
  • Foster to adoption assistance;
  • School-based programs for children with emotional/behavioral issues;
  • Outpatient mental health services for children 3-18 years and their families;
  • In-home family preservation services for families in crisis;
  • Parenting programs for high-risk families
  • Child abuse prevention, early intervention and education programs for parents and children;
  • Early childhood services for children (0-8 years old) with emotional / behavioral problems and / or autistic spectrum disorders;
  • Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team for youth/young adults age 16-22 who have serious and ongoing mental health issues.
